Every Engage comes standard with the Evolve Lithium-Iron Phosphate Battery Power System, a 10.1 kWh pack that ranks among the largest in the industry. It delivers up to 80 miles on a single charge, depending on conditions.

Charging is faster than with lead-acid batteries, and partial charges won’t harm the battery, so you can top off whenever it’s convenient. The integrated charge indicator on the 7-inch display shows remaining charge in real time and alerts you when it’s time to recharge. The system is maintenance-free, with no watering, fumes or sulfation, and it’s covered by Tomberlin’s 5-year limited warranty.

The high/low speed control varies depending on whether the car is purchased as a personal transportation vehicle (PTV) or an LSV.

• PTV- 15 mph/19mph
• LSV- 19mph/25mph

The Tomberlin 5-year limited warranty covers parts and labor, unlike many competitors. The chassis frame, upper structure, front and rear bodies, and specific suspension components are covered for 5 years, and the Evolve Lithium-Iron Phosphate Battery Power System is covered for 5 years/36,000 miles—whichever comes first. Most states allow for low-speed vehicles to be driven on public roads with a posted speed of 35 mph or less. Some states allow for golf carts or personal transport vehicles to be driven on public roads with the addition of specific equipment. Contact your state’s DMV for more details.

Your Owner’s Manual outlines a recommended inspection and service schedule, from quick daily checks to annual service. Semi-annual and annual inspections should be performed by your Authorized Tomberlin Dealer, whose trained technicians use genuine Tomberlin parts. Many also offer annual service programs, so ask your Authorized Tomberlin Dealer for details.

Most golf carts were designed for the course, with top speeds of 12 to 15 mph. Personal transportation vehicles are a step up, reaching up to 19 mph and often adding rear seats and lights for use on private property or, where permitted, public roads. But PTVs aren’t held to federal safety standards.

Low-speed vehicles are a different class altogether. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) regulates them as motor vehicles, with a top speed of 20 to 25 mph and required equipment that includes headlights, turn signals, brake lights, mirrors, a windshield and seat belts. Every LSV carries a 17-digit VIN, so it can be titled, registered and insured much like a car, subject to state law.
